Hywel Dda UHB in discussions to continue branch surgery in St Davids

Following the announcement by Shalom House that the charity will close its business on the 31 October 2025, Hywel Dda University Health Board (UHB) is in active discussions with the charity about the future of the branch surgery to Meddygfa Penrhyn, which operates from Shalom House on Nun Street in St Davids. 

Since the closure of St Davids Surgery in October 2024, two rooms within Shalom House have been used by the Health Board managed practice to provide nurse-led clinics every weekday morning. The branch surgery will continue to operate as normal until the 31 October and patients should attend for booked appointments as normal.

Jill Paterson, Director of Primary Care, Community and Long-Term Care at Hywel Dda UHB, said: “We have welcomed the opportunity to work with Shalom House to support the delivery of our nurse led branch surgery. We are sorry to hear that the Shalom House Charity will be closing and recognise the significant contribution the Charity has made to the local community over the years.

“Our priority now is to ensure continuity of care for patients registered with Meddygfa Penrhyn. We will work closely with the Charity, our partners and stakeholders to explore future provision of these important services locally.”

Patients registered with Meddygfa Penrhyn do not need to take any action at this time. Updates will be shared as soon as more information becomes available.
