Friday 18th July, Meddygfa Penrhyn
The NHS App is the simple and secure way to order your prescriptions and access NHS 111. In the near future you will also be able to book appointments, view test results, access records and receive messages from the surgery.
If you would like a little help downloading the App, registering for the NHS login or verifying your identity online, Meddygfa Penrhyn can help! We are holding support clinics at the Surgery for patients to help you get up and running.
What can we help with?
So how do I book for the clinic?
Contact the surgery by telephone or call in to arrange an appointment with our Support Manager. We will ask for your email address at the time of booking.
What information do we need? What do you need to bring?
To help us get you set up on the day, you'll need to know how to access your email on your smartphone or tablet. Friends or family may be able to help you with this ahead of time. If this isn't possible then you will need to complete the rest of the process at home when you can access your email account.
If you can, before you come, take a look at the info here: apphelp.nhs.wales
Get started with the App
Download the NHS Wales App from the App Store or Google Play or click the link to Access the NHS Wales App on your computer.
What do I need to have to be able to use the App?
To use the app you will need to have a smartphone or an internet connected PC/tablet.
You will need your own individual email address.
For us to be able to help you complete all the steps on the day, you may need to access your email on your smartphone.
What if I don't have a smartphone?
You can still use the App without a smartphone if you have a PC or tablet at home. We won't be able to get you up and running on the day, but we can show you how to access the App online, verify your identity, and give you a step-by-step guide for how to get started.
What if I don't have my own email address?
All App users need their own individual email address for confidentiality reasons, whether they use it on a smartphone or on a PC/tablet. If you don't have your own individual email address we won't be able to help you get on the App. Family or friends may be able to help you get set up with an email account, or you could contact your broadband/internet service provider.
What if I don't have photo ID?
Please bring your passport, driving licence, Blue Badge or travel pass if you have one. If you don't have any of these, we will be able to verify your identity through the Welsh Identity Verification Service (WIVS) and issue a letter.
Can I manage medicines for someone else using the NHS Wales App?
The NHS Wales App does not currently support this, but the ability for a parent, family member or carer to access and manage health and care services for someone else is a part of the future of the NHS Wales App.
